Les Misérables

 France, 1815. Jean Valjean leaves prison after nineteen years. These are dangerous and troubled times, and life, but now can he escape his past, and his enemy. Inspector Javert?

This story is based on the famous novel  Les Misérables by Victor Hugo, one of France's greatest writers. The heroin, Jean Valjean, was arrested by the police, and nineteen years in prison-for a loaf of bread! After he left prison, he changed. But he is still a good man. I love this story, because it was so moving. It was a good chance to try some novels from other countries!!

Then he was given solo role as a principal dancer and went on a trip to London and Paris. But he also had to solve some hard problems like spies from Russia. Firelight secrets

 It isn't much fun being ill, but Karlie lives in a famous old house full of secrets, so at least now she has time to solve a mystery. 

 When Karlie discovers hidden treasures, she learns about another young girl-just the same age as she is now-who lives in the house more than one hundred years ago. In the past, lots of children died because they didn't have modern medicine. Kids are lucky today. Their parents take them to be immunized so they will never get diseases like chickenpox or whooping cough. We should be grateful for what we do have!

Nice performance

 Yesterday, I went to the Kumamoto Prefectual Threater to watch the performance of the brass band. Because my sister joins the brass band at the junior high school, and she plays the trombone. I could feel how she was nervous. Though they only have 19 people, they finally got the second prize. I am so proud of my sister. She really did a good job. At last, we cried together. 

Wizard Wagoo

 The friends return to the Wild Woods where they meet the Wizard Wagoo and his dragon, Dougal. Can the wizard's potions and crystal ball help them finally rescue Obby?

 They come to the house of the Wizard Wagoo, and find some interesting and magic things. Then they use tandems to race along the path. On the other hand, angry howls are catching up behind them. Mouse could see the face of the leading rider. So she opens the little packet and sprinkles some dust over the handlebars! Do you think they would be rescued? Please read this book.

French Adventures

The friends have lots of adventures on their school trip to France. From French ghosts appearing in their chateau to Mr Hopkins' strange disappearance from an old church, this is a trip they will remember.

  They goes on a trip to French. Then two classmates of them, Sam and Mouse go to an old church. But two men in raincoats had come up to speak to Mr Hopkins, and began to march Mr Hopkins out of the church. What was going on? Where was Mr Hopkins going? I want to know the next so I'll check the part 2 of this book!! 

A New School

 The start of a new term at Story Street School brings lots of changes. Will Donut and Cleo like their new school? Who will look after Sunita on her first day?

 After reading this book, I could remember my experience that I started a new school. Unlike Sunita, I don't have elder brother or sister. So I was very shy and nervous. What about you? Do have some bad memories like me?

Homework!

 Doing a nature project is fun when Gran helps.

 The children spend half-term with Gran. They have homework to do about autumn, but Gran makes it fun. They do some collecting instead of doing some homework at home. I really want to collect some leaves and do some research! Which do you like to do? 

Tea with Grumpyboots

 Sam is scared to meet grumpy old Mr Green when she has tea with Mrs Green. But when she starts to talk to him, Mr Green tells Sam about his childhood in the Second World War and she finally discovers the secret of his grumpiness.

 In this book, Mrs Green talked about his experiences in the farm. Because some of the farm-hands had gone to fight in the war, Mrs Green helped with the animals. Actually, he was quite enjoyable.
 I always like to listen to my grandmother's story about her happy and unhappy days. Though she talked about these everytime, I never feel they were boring. I could  imagine the living condition of that time. But I think it was also a good time.

Japanese study

　Yesterday, I taught my younger sister and brother Japanese. They're going to give a speech in front of many teachers and students in the closing ceremony at school this Friday!! So they are very serious. We also watched some videos from a Youtuber who introduces the Japanese culture. Everytime we check these videos, we could understand something that we don't know. So we're keeping learning Japanese. And I hope my sister and brother will do their best this time.

William and Kate

  Though Prince William is in the Royal family, he has to create a balance between its public and private lives. People are interested in every part of his life - his friends ,his schools, his university, and of course his girlfriend. Kate is not from a royal family in a different country. I guess it was fate working to bring them together. After reading this book, I think they're setting a good example for us. We should learn from them through doing some volunteer activities.

Cafe Event at the LLC

　It was my second time to take part in the Cafe Event at LLC. Yesterday, I introduced the life and culture of China with a foreign student from China! I was so nervous but I made it! And we had a good time with cracking sunflower seeds. People in China always eat them on Spring Festival. Thank you for the people coming this event!! 52000

Flood!

 Recently in Japan, it has been raining heavily in the last few days, and causing floods in some areas. We need provide for such improbabilities as floods in our daily life. Over one hundred people lost their life in this time, so let's pay for the souls of the departed. And I think we should try our best to do some volunteers to help people in need. We gonna fight natural disasters together!!

  In this book, I could find the cultural differences. In Europe, many countries celebrate Christmas Day with their family. They always get together to eat cakes, turkeys. There is, however, one Christmas tradition that distinctly Chinese: Apples... Do you wanna eat apples on Christmas Day? 

How the world began

This book features five creation myths from around the world. So in this book, I could find some answers come from religious beliefs. And I could also understand other countries' culture. After reading this book, I think it is more interesting than other textbooks. So I'd highly recommend this book!

Submarine Adventure

 The cover of this book reminds me of the song of The Beatles. Do you know "Yellow Submarine"? The songs they made became art-house classics. And this book is also interesting, please check it!!

White Death

 Drugs are a scourge that is devastating our society. I think we shouldn't take drugs or be a drug dealer. In this book, only two people can help Sarah. They are Sarah's mother and her old boyfriend who does not love her now. Can they find the real criminal before it is too late?

A Day in London

 This book is so interesting that I couldn't help laughing. Grandparents are often tempted to spoil their grandchildren whenever they come to visit. And Gran in this book just like grandmother in our life. Since children had never been to London before, Gran took them out. Then there were many interesting things happened.
