SLA Junior Seminar 2: Women in Business

'Fashion is not just about dresses; fashion is something in the air. Fashion is in the sky, the street. Fashion is about ideas, the way we live, what is happening.'                                                                                          Coco Chanel

Do you know the person on the cover of this book? It tells the business stories of five women from different backgrounds. You may have a chance to experience how they started their career. They are fashion designer Coco Chanel and Hanae Mori, or The Body Shop owner Anita Roddick, the best know talk show hostess Oprah Winfrey and "Queen of Pop" Madonna.
This time I want to introduce one story of them. She is very active, and never let go of any possible chance of success. With absolute confidence, a keen sense of fashion, opening of the 20th century fashion trend. She believes that is you work hard, success will be yours. One of the most famous fragrance, Chanel No. 5 has been described as "the world's most legendary fragrance", and is sold worldwide every 55 seconds. Now, I am sure you must have guessed it. Her name is Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel. Today, her name is the biggest in the fashion.
The only thing I want to say is that no woman can't do what man can do, only man can't do something women can, isn't it?

  1. At every age, there are great and creative women. I guess the more harsh for gender the period was, the more fame they could get. It is still small number that women can work on Japanese society if we take a look at the government. When I do job hunting, I'll take the atmosphere and status of women into consideration.

  2. Indeed, many female find it very hard to find a satisfying position. In my opinion, I think a positive attitude should be created in society towards female applicants. Women can over perform men in many aspects such as carefulness, patience, delicacy. In addition, we also should have confidence so that we can surely find a satisfactory job despite all the prejudices.
